A Bit of History...

Countryside Montessori Preschool began with a student and her mentor. In the summer of 1993 in Cottage Grove, WI  Deb and Patty opened CMP. During that first summer of operation the school suffered extensive damage caused by heavy rains and excessive spring thawing.  That same fall Countryside closed, moved, and started again.  After an overnight renovation of the 23 year old Gingerbread House, CMP reopened in their new home at 721 Northport Drive in Madison.  

    The school building at Countryside sits peacefully atop a hill surrounded by an acre of natural beauty.  The playground offers plenty of space and activities for children to explore and grow.  The school consists of three different classrooms for children ages 2 ½ through 6.  Part time and full time programs are available to a large community of children and families.  Countryside Montessori Preschool is a city, state, and nationally accredited school with a teaching faculty abundant in training, experience and education.  CMP is a multi-cultural school dedicated to meeting the growing needs of today’s children.

     As the school continues to grow and grow we continue to be dedicated to the needs of the students, their families, and the neighborhood community.  The Montessori philosophy lights a brilliant path for all those involved with the school; student, parent and community participation strengthens the foundation of ideas and policies that Countryside stands for.
